- Origin & Breeding: bred from the cross (ND9526-4Russ x ND9687-5Russ) made in 1976 and selected by the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station, Fargo, North Dakota, and the USDA Agricultural Research Service. Released in 1987.

BOTANICAL FEATURES
- Plants: medium, slightly upright; stems medium thick; nodes not pigmented.
- Leaves: medium, open, slightly pubescent.
Terminal leaflets: medium, ovate; tip acuminate; base oblique, asymmetrical.
Primary leaflets: medium, ovate; generally four pairs.
Secondary and tertiary leaflets: numerous. - Flowers: medium, white corolla; anthers yellow orange; buds slightly pigmented.
- Tubers: long to slightly oblong, smooth; heavy, dark, russeted and netted skin; shallow bright golden eyes, fairly numerous; many slightly curved eyebrows; white flesh.
- Sprouts: white with some purple pigment at apex.
AGRICULTURAL FEATURES
Medium yielding variety, attractive appearance, uniform tuber size and shape. Wide adaptability. Resistant to hollow heart. Low to medium specific gravity. Good storability. Medium dormancy period.
Tuber shape and type are very appropriate for the count-carton market. Not well suited for processing.
- Utilization: good for baking; poor to moderate for boiling with some after cooking discoloration; poor for chipping.
- Chief Market: count-carton trade as a baker.
